RFW RIDE FOR COUNTRY KIDS DAY 3

Day 3 for the Royal Far West Ride For Country Kids will see riders depart Cowra for Orange and the only way to Orange regardless of the route, is UP.

THE ROUTE

Day 3 will see riders cycle 137 K and climb 1,503 vertical meters (with an option to take on Mount Canobolas for those keen for more pain). It's the perfect way to end the Country Kids Ride.

Charity rides, such as the Ride For Country Kids, are all about challenging yourself and making a sacrifice and to show just for a day or 2 the mental and physical toughness kids who do it tough show day in and day out and this is what Day 3 for this years Ride For Country Kids is all about.

Its once again another scenic day and starts on very quiet secondary road out towards Canowindra 39 K from Cowra. From there its off to Orange and the route we have chosen takes riders out to Cudal along Canowindra Rd. Traffic will build along this road but its the flattest and safest way into Orange by a long way.

Cudal is around 74 K from Cowra and from here riders will turn right along the Escort Way to Orange. Again this road is busy at times but has a long range of sight so cant see a problem and any alternative to this is much hillier and has a few logistical risks. This road will basically take riders all the way into Orange where riders will re-group at Ross Hill Winery.

Take a look at some of the pics for this day.

RIDE FORMAT

  1. Lunch 122 K
  2. Re-Group Ross Hill Winery
  3. Option for Mount Canobolas
  4. Depart for Charles Sturt University Finish
  5. Fastest Peloton First

THE TERRAIN

The terrain is rough in parts but pretty good and the elevation level reached on this day is almost double that reached on any previous day and thats simply because of where Orange is placed.
