Routes

The 2012 route will see a few minor variations to previous years and take riders through Wisemens Ferry and on to the Hunter. Day 3 for the first time will see riders return via bus, reducing the overall distance to 277 k over the 2 days of riding.

For a detailed view of each days route, look below:

Day One 182 K

Day Two 95 K

Pelotons

Riders need to ride in a peloton and reach an agreed level of fitness to participate in an entoure event. Riders will be accessed prior to the event to ensure they fit within the required standards. As a benchmark, riders need to have previous peloton experience and be able to hold a wheel at an average pace of around 26 – 28 k an hour of the duration of the event.

Pace

The pace will be steady and safety will be a priority. Riders will once again compete for a series of competition jerseys and we will provide details in regards to the jerseys and how they can be won, closer to the event.

Competition Jerseys

Whilst it is not a race, some organised challenges will occur and a detailed briefing will be held throughout the event. In short, the competition sections will include:

  1. Yellow Section - Leaders Jersey
  2. Green Section - Sprint Jersey
  3. Polka Dot - Climbers Jersey
  4. Pink - Individual Fundraiser
  5. White - Best New Rider

Riders will not be allowed to win more than one of the above categories and we will provide more detail on this closer to the event.

Support

The  peloton will be fully supported and include vehicle drivers and support staff, mechanics, massage therapists and doctors. Water, electrolyte powder, carbo shots / bars and sun cream will be available as required. Riders requiring mechanical parts will purchase on a needs basis from the mechanics.

Massage Therapists

Massage Therapists will be available throughout the event at a cost of $30 for 30 minutes. Riders will be advised of the booking process at the event and are encouraged to utilise the therapists to release unwanted aches and pains. Why get a massage ?

Clothing

Both team and individual kits are available. For individual kit, simply visit the entoure shop. For team kit, contact me and I will help you with your designs. Minimum quantities for team kit is 10 per unit and an estimated price for 10 complete sets is around $2,400.
