Operation Angel

Mission Statement and Vision

Operation Angel is a not for profit, secular, humanitarian organisation founded in 1997 by Jacqueline Pascarl to assist the women and children of the war-torn Balkan states. Reinvigorated during the 2009 Victorian Bushfire Crisis, it has since evolved into a rapid response, community and volunteer support organisation, priding itself on being lateral thinking and responsive – filling niches that are often overlooked in the time of emergency and disaster.

By 4th March, 2009, Operation Angel had distributed or organised over AUD$900,000 worth of new humanitarian relief supplies including quality clothing, toiletries, toys, water filtration systems, tools, bedding, linen, hoses, nappies, bicycles to the Victorian Bushfire survivors.

“These are our people, our people who have been devastated by losses of such a scale they are incomprehensible to the weary mind. I had never thought to distribute aid and assist people in these situations whose accents matched my own – my emergency disaster work has always been overseas, far away, where the accents are foreign and the phrase ‘G’day’ a joke. But these ones Operation Angel have been helping are my people, my own people, and it both shreds my heart and galvanises me on levels I have never before encountered. We must not succumb to fatigue in our efforts to aid them, or get so inured to media reports that we turn away with contempt or numbness, for we as a country are judged not only by the calibre of our sporting heroes, or the luminescence of our film stars, and the beauty of our beaches, we will be judged by the distinct and unique ability to embrace all, and care for all, to adapt, but still remain true to our inherent humanity that knows no class or colour or postcode or time limit.”

- Jacqueline Pascarl, Founder, Operation Angel. Excerpt from her regular Victorian Bushfire Situation Reports. 16th February, 2009.

What did we do ?

In assistance with Operation Angel, Merida Cycles and Advance Traders, entoure donated 40 kids bikes and 40 helmets to the kids of Kinglake West Primary School.

Merida Cycles and Advance Traders are existing supporters of entoure and contacted us seeking to donate bikes to the bushfire victims of Victoria and asking for assistance in making that happen.

This is the first time entoure has been involved in the donation of product to brighten the lives of struggling kids but it won’t be the last. In an economic environment where raising funds can be difficult, we are keen to add the donation of product to the string of things we do in an effort to support kids.
